Description:

The Andrology Laboratory Manager oversees the andrology laboratory and its technical and personnel resources to maximize its results while maintaining the required safety and quality conditions, following the SOPs and continuously improving them. The Andrology Laboratory Manager aids in maintaining required safety and quality conditions, implements and assures the laboratory SOPs are being followed and continuously improved. They provide the creation of a work environment that encourages the achievement of individual goals consistent with Company goals and recognizes and rewards individuals for their unique contributions.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
  • Initiates and coordinates the technical functions required in effective implementation of administrative/operation policies and procedures of the Andrology/Endocrine Lab.
  • Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions; renders opinions on new equipment and procedures; recommends preventative programs as needed.
  • Identifies and corrects problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Initiates and facilitates staff quality assurance to monitor staff laboratory practices and procedures; such that outcomes remain standard across all laboratory employees.


Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that team members have the necessary training for proper performance and development.
  • Maintain organization of team members' timesheets, PTO, etc. to ensure that tasks are properly carried out.
  • Transmit the Company's policies (health and safety, labor legislation, training, etc.) to ensure compliance.


Academic Training:
  • Master's Degree in a chemical, biological, clinical laboratory science or related - preferred
  • Studies level: Master's Degree
  • Studies area: Chemical/Biological/Clinical Laboratory Science or other related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, biological, clinical laboratory science or related - required
    • Studies level: University Education (Bachelor's Degree)

  • Studies area: Chemical/Biological/Clinical Laboratory Science or other related field


    • Technical Supervisor Certification by the American Association of BioAnalysts (AAB) - required

      • Studies level: Certification

  • Studies area: American Association of BioAnalysts (AAB) Technical Supervis


  • Position Requirements/Experience:

    • 8+ years' experience as a human andrology/endocrine laboratory technician - required

    • Customer relations and/or hospitality experience - a plus


    Technical Skills:
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites and payroll software
    • Ability to operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, hormone analyzers and microscopes
