The ideal candidate would currently reside in our footprint which includes Illinois and St. Louis, MO. Anyone that does not currently live in this area, will not be considered. This position is not eligible for relocation.
Salary Range: $90,000-$125,000
At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare, well-being benefits, paid family leave as well as generous paid time off. Total Rewards also include banking perks, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K plan with company match and may include the opportunity to participate in our Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation plan. Position Summary
The web developer will work as part of a custom development team with peer developers to develop, maintain, and advance our custom applications throughout the bank.
Primary Accountabilities
- Participate and contribute to the development of digital strategies aligned with business strategies.
- Familiarity with the appropriate agile or waterfall methodology given the project.
- Research and provide recommendations for digital technology roadmap.
- Be involved and part of a team that is responsible for the overall design, build, implementation and maintenance of various web applications including our website and custom applications. Responsibilities:
- APIs
- Website design/development
- Custom application design/development
- Development best practices
- Data Security/Quality
- Establish and document the guidelines and standards for the development and support of custom applications/website
- Participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle: requirements analysis & definition, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and sustainment to implement solutions.
- Conduct periodic assessments of security, backup/recovery, performance, load, and stress testing
- Maintain and expand expertise in one or more technical skills through continuous self-study, training, and certifications.
- The role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.
- May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or any combination of education and 3-5 years of experience designing, building, and managing technical solutions
- Knowledge of the following areas required:
- PHP or other Javascript language(s)
- Version control (GIT, TFS, etc.)
- Agile Methodology
- Drupal or similar content management systems (CMS)
- Acquia or similar hosting platform
- Prefer experience with:
- Experience with financial services
- Various bank application databases and how information is stored (e.g., Call Report codes, various bank applications and related financial codes
- Background in UI/UX principles
- Background in Google Analytics
- Background in website and marketing automation methodologies
