We are seeking an Application Analyst for our Epic CDCI team.
The Application Analyst is responsible for implementation, support, and maintenance of Computer Assisted Coding (CAC), Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), Health Information Management (HIM) and Epic solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Install new applications, new components, and upgrade existing applications. Configure application settings.
Provide go-live and rollout support.
Support users on new applications, modules, and functionality.
Perform analysis of necessary application modifications and work with the appropriate Montefiore IT associate or the vendor to coordinate the modification.
Resolve critical issues independently as necessary. Forward issues to the correct individual or group or elevate it to the vendor if required.
Determine how a new system, upgrade, or new component can best meet the needs of the users.
Analyze business/clinical needs and requirements.
Interpret end user requirements by fully discussing potential options, and help user move towards optimal solution.
Utilize extensive knowledge of the system to reveal potential issues related to user requests.
Evaluate the operational workflow that is applied to the system.
Create system specifications from user requirements.
Create test plans and test new systems, version upgrades, and any system modifications.
Document all outcomes of testing. Review Application Analyst's test plans and documented outcomes for consistency and thoroughness.
Design database queries and create reports utilizing a report-writing tool.
Application implementation, troubleshooting, and support.
Participate in 24x7 on call support.
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Certification in 3M 360 Encompass applications and prior experience working with 3M solutions preferred.
Certifications in Epic HIM modules: Hospital Coding, ROI-Release of Information, Deficiency Tracking, Identity. Candidates with strong workflow knowledge without Epic certification may be considered with the understanding that their obtaining and keeping Epic certification is a condition of employment.
Experience working with or in Documentation Improvement and Health Information Management Operations or in Healthcare IT
Knowledge of Clinical Documentation and Coding Improvement functions and operations
Application implementation, troubleshooting, testing, and support experience
Programming or other technical skills including logic analysis
Reporting/business intelligence skills are a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Professional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Strong Microsoft Office skills including Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Meeting all requirements for EPIC Certification is a condition of employment.
