Application Development Software Engineer, VP (CLS US Services Inc., Iselin, NJ)

Develop designated application components from conception and detailed design to delivery and support. Collaborate with Business Analysts, Application Architects, Developers, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Vendor teams for design, development, testing, maintenance, and support. Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) to lead, guide and mentor onsite and offshore developers and ensure that the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) requirements are fully adhered to and met. Plan, implement and ensure that delivery milestones are met. Improve business processes and support critical business strategies. Provide solutions using standard design patterns, normative techniques, and industry best practices that meet the typical challenges and requirements of financial applications, including usability, performance, security, resiliency, and compatibility. Proactively identify, recognize, and diagnose system deficiencies and implement effective remedial solutions. Participate in, contribute to, and assimilate changes, enhancements, requirements (functional and non-functional), and requirements traceability. Apply knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve in-house practices and services and provide Level-3 support, including training, tools, process, etc., to Level-2 and other stakeholder teams. Telecommuting may be permitted as per CLS policy. When not telecommuting, must report to 101 Wood Ave S, 2nd Floor, Iselin, NJ 08830. Salary: $179,982 - $189,000 per year.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Applications, or a related field, plus 7 years of professional experience as Software Developer, Software Engineer, or any position/occupation/job title involving application development and support.

Must also have experience in the following: 7 years of professional experience performing core C++ Unix based-development (including C++11, STL, and design patterns); 7 years of professional experience utilizing Jira, Git, Gcc/C++, Make (Gnu) and Valgrind; 7 years of professional experience utilizing Python, Perl, Unix shell (including Bash) scripting; 7 years of professional experience utilizing SQL including database management software (including IBM DB2 or Oracle); 7 years of professional experience utilizing messaging middleware (including IBM MQ, JMS, or TIBCO EMS); 7 years of professional experience utilizing MS Office toolset (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio); and 3 years of professional experience working with a team of engineers.
