The Retrofit applications engineer is responsible for providing conceptual engineering, cost estimating and proposal preparation for gas processing equipment. Equipment includes modular equipment for mechanical refrigeration units, Reciprocating Compressor units, Power Generation units and other systems found in the mid-stream market.

The Retrofit applications engineer is responsible for providing conceptual engineering, cost estimating and proposal preparation for gas processing equipment. Equipment includes modular equipment for mechanical refrigeration units, Reciprocating Compressor units, Power Generation units and other systems found in the mid-stream market.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties
- Interpret customer needs and project specifications to develop optimized solutions.
- Prepare system process simulations, and design, size and select suitable equipment.
- Generate cost and schedule estimates and evaluate design fit.
- Prepare written technical and commercial proposals, including drawings and diagrams.
- Develop preliminary execution plans, including evaluation of suppliers, internal resource requirements, and customer constraints.
- Actively seek and support continuous improvement in performance of all duties.
- Maintain supplier, client, and stakeholder relationships. Participate in client clarification meetings.
- Interface with all operational departments within the company.
- Maintain knowledge of codes and standards applicable to products in the global market.
- Duties must be performed consistent with the company mission and values.
- Abide by and promote Enerflex's HSE policy.
Qualifications
- BS Engineering degrees will be considered a plus provided other Job Specifications are met.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience with design of natural gas compression, processing, or treating equipment.
- Ability to develop process simulations using HYSYS, SAP, CAD or similar software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Fluency in English.
- Knowledge of product mechanical design, thermodynamics, chemical processing, and instrumentation & controls.
- Time management skills including multi-tasking competing priorities as needed.
- Ability to generate alternative solutions.
- Being customer-centered and able to maintain satisfied customer and vendor relationships.
- Desire and ability to resolve technical problems with a desire and ability to continue learning
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be self-motivated and team oriented, capable of learning, managing time, priorities, and operating well under pressure with little supervision.
- Ability to develop into Project managing their own jobs quoted to successfully reach their budget.
Physical Requirements
- Fast-paced general office environment. Many tasks have high degrees of time sensitivity.
- Domestic travel is possible on occasion.
- May be exposed to confidential information.
- Frequently required to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends.
