Application Specialist - Michigan
Fullerton Tool Company is looking for a candidate to fill the Application Specialist position, in which they will oversee and support existing business as well as develop new opportunities for a global round carbide cutting tool manufacturer specializing in drilling and milling products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage sales of the Curry Family of Companies brands represented by Fullerton Tool Company, Endurance Carbide, Carbro, Inova, Hobe and all of their associated brands in the Michigan territory by planning and monitoring sales, while working at the spindle to help solve customer problems. Recommend correct tooling, tool paths, and speed and feed information. Work with representatives and distributors to capture testing opportunities to grow market share for Fullerton Tool.
- 60% - End User Management & New Business Development - The role requires developing new end user customers and managing and mining existing customer accounts to assure customer retention and development of new business opportunities for increased product sales. The role requires extensive cutting tool knowledge and the ability to travel to work at the customers' facilities.
- 25% - Distributor Channel Partner Account Management & New Business Development - The role requires optimizing sales with distribution channel partners through joint calls, end user leads, and technical product support.
- 15% - Administration - Territory Planning, sales administrative activities, and reporting.
- Proactively identify changes in our industry, delivery systems, and competitive pressures to develop and modify strategies and tactics accordingly. Market research on competitors and industry trends.
- Maintain competitive knowledge to create and adjust machining strategies.
- Operate within the guidelines of Fullerton Tool Company's CORE VALUES.
Qualifications/Education/Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree of equivalent preferred.
- High level of integrity; proactive, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
- Proficient computer skills required; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Teams).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in cutting tool industry.
- Must have an understanding of cutting tool geometry, application speeds and feeds, chip thinning, and new trends in high speed machining.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Clean driving record.
