Job Appointment: Regular, Full time

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm. Alternate schedule may be available.

About the Position:The Bureau of Technology Services (BTS) is seeking an experienced applications developer for the Vertical Applications team. Members of this team are responsible for the development and support of various applications and databases for their assigned customer bureau. The successful candidate for this position will be assigned to the Water Bureau team.

Employees in this classification perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties within the Applications Analyst series, including maintaining large or complex City applications and serving in a project lead capacity on specialized applications development projects. The AAIII is expected to operate under minimal supervision.

The successful candidate must be able to pass a comprehensive police background investigation and be able to work in a culturally and gender diverse workplace.

To Qualify
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:

  • Experience with desktop or web application design, development, testing, and support using any of the following languages, libraries and frameworks: Microsoft .Net framework with C#, VB.NET, and/or ASP.NET, Java, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and any JavaScript framework.
  • Experience developing and integrating with APIs in any language and querying web APIs using JSON format.
  • Knowledge of web/servlet container administration such as Apache Tomcat.
  • Experience writing SQL scripts, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Experience developing, evaluating, and documenting business and technical requirements, and writing technical and user documentation of software systems.

    Step 5: Offer of Employment: September
