Typical Day in the Role
Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is providing technical documentation for security products. The team is currently working on a new developer documentation project and needs additional support to create developer guidance.
Key projects: This role will contribute to creating developer documentation for security product SDKs focusing on AI support that will help allow partners, Independent Software Vendors, and more build and extend the use of AI.
Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 50% of meetings, working with various engineering teams and program managers to scope out customer and developer scenarios, understand the tools, and creating documentation plans. The remaining 50% is building infrastructure and writing code, working on created plans to deliver content, ensuring code comments are clean and up to date, that automation workflows work as expected, preparing documentation for review, conducting reviews, and publishing documentation.

Years of Experience Required: 5+ overall years of experience in the field.
Degrees or certifications required: No degree is required to be eligible for this role.

Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain previous experience working on *** developer documentation and working with *** developer documentation tooling.
Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines and level of quality on completed items.

1. Minimum 5 years experience with REST APIs
2. Minimum 5 years experience with GitHub and Markdown
3. Minimum 5 years experience with creating developer documentation.
4. A Portfolio or previous samples of technical documentation is required - the best examples of previous work will include well thought through conceptual guidance, well structed references, tight and concise writing, and some work with REST APIs.

In this role, you'll leverage your passion for teaching, writing, and coding. You'll work with engineering and product manager teams to understand end-to-end scenarios, research technical specs, and try out features to learn the details. With this knowledge, you will create documentation for developers, helping them build applications that connect to internal AI tools. You will provide technical guidance and site experience to assist partners in solving complex problems and exploring new opportunities with our services. Additionally, you will help the product team set up authoring tools and automate API documentation.

Independently plan, drive, and deliver high quality content
Are familiar with *** developer documentation creation (GitHub, markdown, and API reflection)
Confidently navigate ambiguity
Qualifications:
B.S. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technical Communications, or related field
5+ years of experience reading and programming RESTful APIs, Python, or other language
5+ years of experience writing developer documentation
