Overview
We're seeking an Applications Scientist to drive innovation and support our comprehensive Bruker's Biosensors portfolio, including advanced Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) systems, groundbreaking switchSENSE (Helix+) technology, and the state-of-the-art HeliXcyto platform for single-cell Interaction Cytometry (scIC).
This exciting, on-site role is based in Bruker's Headquarter in Boston/Billerica, MA and involves contributing to sales activities, customer training, and technical support and managing our Bruker Biosensors Application Laboratory. Reporting to the Application Manager, you'll work closely with our SPR instrument line, Helix portfolio, and associated consumables and software.

At Bruker, the base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $81,900 and $130,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base salary for the role will depend on several job-related factors, including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge, and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits, including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.

Responsibilities
- Conduct sample analyses, focusing on pharmaceutical applications for the SPR and Helix portfolios.
- Provide expert technical sales support through preparations, demonstrations, and detailed reporting for prospective customers.
- Author technical documents showcasing innovative applications of Bruker's biosensor instrumentation.
- Deliver engaging pre-sales support, including joint sales visits, webinars, and technical presentations.
- Offer post-installation support, such as on-site customer training and tailored method development.
- Develop new applications, contributing to conferences, marketing materials, and technical presentations.
- Train and support new and existing customers, ensuring a world-class experience.
- Manage the Bruker Biosensors Application Laboratory, handle maintenance and daily operations.
Qualifications

- PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field, with 2+ years of hands-on experience in biophysical methods.
- Alternatively, BS/MS with 5+ years of hands-on experience in biophysical methods.
- Experience with Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), switchSENSE, single-cell cytometry and cell culture is highly advantageous.
- Expertise: Proven skills in laboratory setup, management, and experimental execution.
- Communication Skills: Strong ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences with clarity and enthusiasm.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support customers and projects (up to 50%).
