Description:

The Production Manager is responsible for supporting the effective, high quality, and timely delivery of multiple custom residential design build projects from Design Development through Construction Documentation and Permitting. This includes support and coordination of all internal and external design professionals to produce high quality results in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

The Production Manager will manage and provide oversight focused on the effectiveness and completeness of construction documentation. The Production Manager will also support the VP of Architecture on special projects or initiatives. The Production Manager is also responsible for coordinating and assisting related workflow with other Blue Heron departments including Architecture, Interior Design, QA/QC, Project Operations, and Construction.

Responsibilities:

The Production Manager supervises and directs Production personnel and processes to ensure efficient and on-time production schedules in accordance with customer, statutory/regulatory, industry, quality, and organizational requirements.

  • Create and manage standardized processes and procedures related to construction documentation including engineering document review & coordination, specifications, construction standards and details, and AHJ communication standards to be implemented within the Design Team and cross-departmentally
  • Collaborate with the VP of Architecture to develop design standards and standard construction details based on lessons learned and QAQC feedback
  • Collaborate with Design Team to ensure processes and procedures are implemented with projects
  • Incorporate the Blue Heron design standards for drawings and support Best Practices development and documentation
  • Mentor and train Production staff
  • Review and redline construction documents for accuracy and quality
  • Manage construction document preparation and maintain company standards
  • Maintenance of Blue Heron Best Practice Library
  • Maintenance of Community Documents Resources including, but not limited to, specifications, construction detail library, and municipality permit set requirements
  • Provide clear and concise red-line feedback to in house multi-disciplinary design and production staff
  • Work directly with internal stakeholders to verify functionality of details
  • Coordinate approval of design and construction documents from design review committees to permit
  • Drive increased efficiency across the Construction Document deliverables, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology use
  • Provide Drafting support for the Company's projects
  • Provide design and construction support to internal departments and subcontractors, including sales and marketing leaders
  • Oversee projects to ensure design intent through effective construction documentation
  • Promote and encourage the alignment with Blue Heron Core Values, Policies, Philosophies, Processes, and Methodologies
  • Ensure that the design vision is accurately represented in the construction documentation through consistent communication with the design team
  • Communicate and coordinate with Design and QA/QC Teams for items related to standardization of internal processes and procedures

  • Constructability Meetings
  • Special Purpose, Vendor, and Company Meetings


Requirements

Essential Qualifications
  • Professional degree in Architecture or related field. Licensed Architect a plus
  • 10+ years of architectural experience with 5+ years of experience working with residential construction documentation
  • Understanding of Local and Federal Building Codes, NFPA & ADA rules. Familiarity with the permit processes of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson and CCBD preferred
  • General understanding of construction costs and how to implement value engineering techniques
  • Detail oriented with a high dedication to getting plans right before they reach our trades or field team
  • Proven track record managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to articulate thoughts and actively listen to communicate effectively with co-workers and vendors
  • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and hold teams accountable
  • High level of professionalism, effective communicator, and problem solver
  • High level construction knowledge to understand construction process, terminology, codes, and the ability to effectively communicate with Superintendents and Design Teams
  • Ability to comprehend all documentation related to the design process, including architectural drawings and specifications, interior design drawings and specifications, finish schedules, and appendices
  • Ability to self-manage, provide direction, meet timelines, complete tasks, and work on multiple projects at one time with accuracy and detail
  • Exceptional cross-functional collaborative attitude and drive to deliver effective results
  • Must have a high level of analytical skills. Work requires continual attention to detail with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Routine use of Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup, or other similar CAD programs.
  • Possess a valid Nevada driver's license and personal automobile available
  • Ability to communicate in English effectively with other individuals
