The Area Controller will be responsible for managing the financial operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for multiple properties/locations within the assigned area. This role will partner closely with property leadership and the corporate finance team to ensure compliance with financial standards and drive profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership abilities, and experience working in multi-unit environments.

This role will partner closely with property leadership and the corporate finance team to ensure compliance with financial standards and drive profitability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent leadership abilities, and experience working in multi-unit environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial management for assigned locations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including variance analysis and financial performance reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with property management to develop budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial plans.
- Conduct regular audits to assess financial risk, identify discrepancies, and improve operational efficiencies.
- Provide guidance and leadership to the accounting teams at each location.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth.
- Act as the key financial liaison between the property leadership teams and corporate finance.
- Assist in the implementation of financial systems, processes, and technologies to enhance financial operations.
- Ensure proper cash flow management and monitor accounts payable/receivable functions.
- Manage payroll and tax filings for the assigned area.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with experience in a multi-location or regional role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience, with the ability to train, mentor, and supervise staff.
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different departments.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
