JOB TITLE: Director of Sales

Reports To: Regional Director of Sales

Summary: Lead sales and marketing efforts. Ensure all Sales Managers are determined and prepared to meet sales quotas and goals, create sales plans, analyze data, and work within a team in accordance to the HDG vision, mission and core values.

Core Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure we have a process in place to hire, train, and lead all sales managers
  • Partner with and develop Regional and Area Sales managers
  • Meet or exceed set goals: activity, productivity (revenue consumption) and booking goals
  • Lead and initiate department training, including GM Binder, Sales and Revenue Summit, and Culture Con, which may include pubic speaking
  • Lead the bonus program process, including, but not limited to format recommendation, information gathering, and approval ? Attend and actively participate in all Director Circle activities/meetings
  • Initiate and follow up on all leads for the hotels in all market segments/territory through the brand, management company and other third-party resources
  • Maintain and participate in an active sales solicitation program, to include a significant amount of daily schedule engaged in direct sales calls in the local market. May be required to travel to location, transport materials and make presentations on short notice
  • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market
  • Regularly contact existing accounts based on the tracing frequencies of the trace system in the sales automation system ? Be familiar with all sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR.)
  • Have full working knowledge of sales automation system, including (but not limited to) generating reports, entering business, blocking space and building accounts
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food and Beverage, Guest Services and Housekeeping
  • Conduct a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the hotel
  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner

Requirements:
  • Ability to understand and execute and support customer service standards and brand standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with hotel service team in providing exceptional customer service
  • Superior guest and account relations skills
  • Excellent telephone communication skills
  • Strong overall sales skills and an ability to effectively negotiate and close business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Operational knowledge and/or appreciation of operational challenges
  • Assertive at establishing new customer relationships
  • Exhibits self-confidence, energy and enthusiasm
  • Basic software knowledge (Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license from the appropriate state
  • Action Orientation to capitalize on opportunities to secure revenue and to resolve problems independently
  • Drive for Results demonstrated in achievement of individual and property goals
  • Time Management skills to utilize available time effectively and to attend to a broad range of activities
