Join an agile highly motivated team of engineers responsible for the development and implementation of emerging autonomous technology for use in ground combat vehicles. The function of this position is to support the development of advanced autonomous capabilities across the domains of mobility, situational awareness, reconnaissance, human-machine integration, and operational mission planning & execution. Product teams work together using the latest advances in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Model Based Systems Engineering to bring these concepts to reality.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
IPT scope:
System / Subsystem requirements development
Functional capability traceability and verification compliance (RVTM)
Cross domain coordination of scope/technical content
Review, understand and execute XM30 program CDRLs (Document and Software Deliveries)
Identification and maturity assessment of autonomous vehicle technologies
Experience in conducting user jury events
Technical writing, to include contributing to CDRLs and technical reports
System Modeling of vehicle functions which include:
Task reduction thru system automation
User Interfaces

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- Lead software design and development efforts regarding a mix of advanced capabilities, including but not limited to:
- User Interface / User Experience
- Embedded Training
- Support services / APIs
- Provide direction for team members including technology roadmaps and mentorship.
- Responsible for tasking, performance management, evaluation, and hiring of 5-10 direct reports.
- Responsible for planning and execution of Integration Project Team (IPT) scope, budget, schedule, technical work planning, tracking, and transfer of technology & software from advanced development team.

- Conduct research and evaluation of emerging techniques regarding UI/UX, software architectures, methodologies, and integration strategies.
- Work with vendors/partners to integrate functionality of their systems/subsystems seemingly onto GDLS platforms.
- Understanding of feature/systems requirements and the ability to translate the requirements into validation test procedures and use cases.
- Generate documentation, software code and other artifacts for technology transfer to production programs.
- Lead and participate in development and presentation of design reviews
- Lead and participate in internal and customer demonstrations.
- Lead and participate in peer reviews, identify, track and assess solutions to defects.
- Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, operational performance requirements, and design of the overall system.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years related engineering experience, 15yrs+ preferred
- People Leader experience a plus.
- Strong background in high level programming language such as C & C++
- Strong background with Simulation and Game Engines such as Unity3D and Unreal
- Expertise with designing User Interfaces
- Expertise with creating 3D human in the loop simulations
- Expertise in working with Graphical Unser Interfaces Tool kits such as Qt
- Expertise working with Linux (Ubuntu).
- Expertise in networking, communication, and interface technologies and protocols - CAN, TCP, UDP, DDS, JAUS, IOP, etc.
- Strong experience with pub/sub services like DDS
- Have broad and deep technical understanding on various software architectures, design patterns and underlying technologies that support them.
- Experience evaluating emerging technologies and success with integration of technologies onto platforms/products.
- Skilled in planning work to achieve milestones on a schedule
- Knowledgeable in systems engineering concepts
- Experience in system modeling using Cameo (or similar SysML tools)
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to perform general hands-on troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office and other engineering software
- Be goal oriented and keep the team focused to task.
- Be able to multi-task on simultaneous development projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and mission scope.
- This position will require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space).
- The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends as needed by the project.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and people skills required.
- Ability to travel when needed, minimal travel required for this role.

- Experience with defense department processes and documentation standards
- Familiarity with architectures, development and integration of military vehicles
