PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Area Manager plans, coordinates and manages the nursing department and employees assigned to their respective area. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of nursing care and services provided to the patients. Ensures quality care that is consistent with company and regulatory standards.

Supports the mission, core values and customer service of Home Dialysis Services & Dialysis Care Center, LLC (HDS/DCC).
Adheres to the HDS/DCC Policies and Procedures and Compliance Program including all state and federal regulatory requirements.

PRIMARY DUTIES / ACTIVITIES:
  • Provide supervision to Dialysis programs.
  • Administrative oversight of staff, quality, physician relationships, etc.
  • Work with physicians and RNs to increase patient census
  • Promotes operational efficiency and works to achieve quality goals
  • Participates in QAPI & Governing body meetings
  • Ensures adequate staffing and assists if needed.
  • Oversees the following:
  • Ensures nursing staff is providing quality and appropriate patient care that meets or exceeds company and regulatory standards.
  • Provides safe and effective training, direct patient care and delivery of in-center and home dialysis therapies to patients in compliance with standards outlined in the facility policy and procedure manuals, as well as regulations set forth by the state and federal agencies.
  • Rotates with other licensed and certified staff to ensure adequate patient care management coverage.
  • Participates in staff training and orientation of new staff as assigned.
  • Assists in the identification and evaluation and selection of candidates for the Dialysis Program, including assessment of patients' home environment.
  • Provides oversight, supervision and on-going support to the Dialysis RN/PD and HHD staff.
  • Provides oversight and supervision of all Patient Care Technicians/Staff Assistant Caregivers.
  • Provides safe and effective delivery of Dialysis Care.
  • Communicates patient related issues to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations, C.E.O., and the patient's physician as needed.
  • Reports adverse patient events at home or in the facility/clinic as well as equipment and technology related problems to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations, CEO, Quality Department and physician, including the correct documentation of such events.
  • Assists with the coordination of a required transfer of the assigned patient to the hemodialysis clinic when appropriate.
  • Other duties, as assigned


CUSTOMER SERVICE:
  • Responsible for supporting the values and customer service standards of HDS/DCC.
  • Accountable for outstanding customer service to all staff, clients and vendors
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication.
  • Initiates action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.


EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting; experience in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word and Excel a must;
  • Good presentation & communication skills
  • Must be productive & resourceful with the ability to meet deadlines

  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently yet function in a highly collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong data entry, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • High integrity, team player with patient service focus and flexibility


EDUCATION:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of dialysis nursing experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, RN or BSN
  • Current appropriate state licensure as a registered nurse
  • Current CPR card

Day to day work includes desk and personal computer work and interaction with prospective and current clients. The position requires travel between assigned facilities and various locations. Travel to scheduled staff meetings may be required.

The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels. The work environment is also characteristic of a dialysis center or a patient's home and as such the employee may be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases/ materials.

Must be able to lift 30 pounds as needed.
