As a Diffusion and Implant (DIFI) Area Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for mitigating area capacity risks and ensuring an operational corridor that meets program timelines and deliverables within their assigned process areas. You will do this by identifying and managing systemic issues, reducing operational risk through efficient capital deployment, and collaborating closely with the area Industrial Engineering team and Development Engineering Section Heads to evaluate future tool needs, understand area tool limiters, and address priorities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Mitigate area capacity risks and provide an operational corridor to meet program timelines and deliverables within assigned process areas1.
  • Identify and manage systemic issues to enable area-level tactical execution of the business plan (cycle time, process redundancy, q time setup, area holds)2.
  • Reduce operational risk with efficient capital deployment through accurate risk assessments and decision-making, partnering with PDE/MDE/IE counterparts3.
  • Collaborate closely with the area Industrial Engineering team to evaluate future tool needs, understand area tool limiters, and capacity scenarios4.
  • Work with Development Engineering Section Heads to evaluate and address area priorities and drive consistent manufacturing procedures that meet engineering and quality requirements5.
  • Create strong area-level accountability through clear and transparent metrics on area operational and strategic performance6.
  • Establish and communicate performance targets and line-of-sight goals to individual contributors7.
  • Partner closely with manufacturing and process development area leaders to forecast systemic issues and build mitigation plans.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3 years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in the semiconductor industry
  • 1 year working multi-functionally within an engineering or operational group
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience working experience in a semiconductor fab


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience with data analysis and reporting tools
  • 1 year with Micron's MES, Scheduling System, Line Management systems and related production and planning reporting tools
  • 1 year with Lean Manufacturing, Equipment Efficiency, and Line Management
