POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of a Psychiatrist and Program Manager, this advanced professional position provides treatment services intended to assist persons with mental illness by prescribing psychotropic medication to stabilize their condition.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master or Doctorate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with current Florida ARNP license.
- Required ability to speak Spanish for a diverse population.
- Encompass the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, consumers, employees, and the general public.
- Current DEA license preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- General office, health care setting. Most work is completed while seated at a desk using standard office equipment.
- Fast-paced, team approach. Multi-tasking requires above-average time management skills.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Performs diagnostic evaluations of patients with mental health disorders.
- Responsible for conduction of medication clinics, monitoring and altering drug therapies, and initiation and continuation of appropriate therapies according to established protocol and consistent with the practice setting.
- Completes required documentation of clinical services provided and maintains up-to-date clinical records. Uses the electronic medical record and electronic prescribing system required by the agency.
- Coordinates the delivery of clinical treatment services with other clinicians and support services staff. Provides consultations and referrals to other clinical staff, outside providers and other agencies.
- Review and approve all treatment plans; perform peer reviews when requested to do so.
- Continue professional development through in-service education, workshops, conferences, and self-study necessary to maintain current knowledge applicable to the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the medical director.

- Meets deadlines, requirements, and expectations as established by the supervisor, agency, and department.
