Job Summary:
The Asset Management function within the Tenaska Generation business unit is seeking an Asset Manager to play a key role in the commercial optimization of its generating plants. This position involves the evaluation of commercial opportunities, internal and external reporting of plant performance, and interaction with senior level management as well as project partners, contractual counterparties, and third-party advisors.
Essential Job Functions: Understand, analyze, and enhance the financial performance of Tenaska plants.
Assess power markets and the impacts of market changes on Tenaska plants.
Identify and evaluate opportunities and risks associated with commercial transactions involving capacity, energy, and related commodities.
Analyze the major project contracts for ways to maximize revenue and reduce costs.
Develop, generate, and communicate the necessary reporting materials to senior management for internal assessment of project performance.
Collaborate with asset management and operations peers within the Tenaska
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree. Business, finance, accounting, or engineering
Knowledge of financial and business information systems.
Must be able to communicate effectively throughout the organization
Ability to act independently.
Ability to handle extremely confidential and sensitive company information.
Excellent PC/Windows, Excel, Word, PowerPoin,t and database querying ability.
Preferred Requirements:
2-5 years' experience in the energy industry or commodity trading field
Knowledge of power and natural gas markets
Understanding of financials, budgeting, and forecasting
Ability to manage/optimize contracts
Knowledge of power plant operations
Knowledge of database and information management.
