Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist the CFO in developing and implementing the organization's financial strategy.
- Direct day-to-day financial operations in compliance with HCCH Board policies, CMS Conditions of Participation, and Missouri state laws.
- Assist in developing and maintaining financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Monitor financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for operational improvements.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including accounting, operations, and HR, to align financial strategies with operational needs, optimize budget management, and financial decision-making.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis of each department to determine cost-effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide direct supervision of the Finance, Revenue Cycle, Materials Management and Health Information departments, helping to enhance financial performance.
- Assist in managing cash flow, investment strategies, and long-term financial planning.
- Develop and manage financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Prepare and present the annual operating and capital budgets for approval by the CFO, CEO and Board of Directors.
- Interpret complex financial data to provide actionable insights for decision-making.
- Ensure financial operations align with CMS Conditions of Participation for Critical Access Hospitals and Rural Health Clinics.
- Support financial forecasting, cost analysis, and strategic financial initiatives.
- Assist in overseeing audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Act as a liaison with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Stay current on industry trends, financial regulations, and best practices to provide informed financial leadership.
- Evaluate potential new service lines or programs to determine financial viability and revenue potential.
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures across hospital departments while maintaining operational effectiveness.
- Assist in grant management and funding opportunities to support hospital initiatives.
- Participate in executive leadership meetings, providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Maintain relationships with external financial entities, including auditors and banking institutions.

Education, Certificates, and License:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Experience with hospital financial operations, budgeting, and regulatory compliance preferred.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within finance preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a standard office environment with prolonged periods of sitting.
- Occasional lifting of documents and materials up to 25 lbs.
