POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Controller will manage the Accounting department with day-to-day operations and the execution of month-end close. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage budgets and strategic decision-making to optimize financial performance for the company. In addition, this role will shape the Accounting department's function within the company to add value to internal stakeholders.

Compensation: USD $130,000 - $150,000 per year.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Controller will manage the Accounting department with day-to-day operations and the execution of month-end close. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage budgets and strategic decision-making to optimize financial performance for the company. In addition, this role will shape the Accounting department's function within the company to add value to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily accounting operations involving the G/L, Payroll, A/P, and A/R functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and analyses to assist strategic decision-making. Provide reporting packages to the senior leadership team and external stakeholders as requested.
- Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and enhancement of Netsuite financial modules (G/L, A/P, A/R, ARM, and Reporting) and validate integrations with Salesforce, Concur, Bill.com and other third-party systems.
- Ensure proper application of ASC 606 guidance in the Advanced Revenue Management module, and partnering with Finance, Legal, Sales, and Operations to optimize deal structures and revenue policies.
- Lead the annual audit process by coordinating requests internally, creating schedules, and drafting financial statements for review by external auditors.
- Responsible for working with external tax consultants on federal and state tax compliance and reporting, including multi-state sales and use tax returns.
- Provide mentorship and training for the accounting team to establish best practices, and foster collaboration and professional growth in a remote working environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business, system, or process changes and their impacts on company operations and results.
- Maintain capitalization table in Carta for offerings, debt conversions, warrants and stock option grants.
- Conduct research and draft memos to support the company's position on technical accounting matters.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong user knowledge of Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel
- Prior experience with Netsuite ERP, with advanced knowledge of the ARM module
- Analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical staff
- Capacity to multi-task and properly manage various deadlines
Experience and Qualifications:
- Active CPA license
- Self-starter with a "can do" attitude
- Bachelor's degree with relevant major (Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields)
- Multi-state payroll experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting
- Experience with financial reporting standards and technical accounting guidelines
