Summary:
This position is responsible for the helping drive adherence to GAAP accounting and a strong control environment. The Assistant Controller will have an instrumental role in setting accounting policy, completion of month-end close, execution of the year-end audit and researching accounting issues. This position will report to the Controller and will have frequent interaction with the CFO.

Competencies:
Education and Experience:
Education: BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline or equivalent work experience
Experience: Minimum of 5 years relevant general ledger and financial analysis experience
Preferred: CPA, MBA or Master's degree strongly desired
Previous experience in Great Plains Software, preferred
Process improvement experience a plus
Strong internal controls background

This position is responsible for the helping drive adherence to GAAP accounting and a strong control environment. The Assistant Controller will have an instrumental role in setting accounting policy, completion of month-end close, execution of the year-end audit and researching accounting issues. This position will report to the Controller and will have frequent interaction with the CFO.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensures all accounting is handled in accordance with GAAP
- Prepares materials for the company's external auditors
- Oversees the preparation and evaluation of financial operating reports; and presents finding and recommendations to senior management
- Prepares and reviews journal entries
- Performs corporate financial/statutory reporting process
- Supervises and prepares general ledger reconciliations and performs account analysis
- Examine, review, analyze and interpret accounting records in preparation of issuance of financial statements
- Coordinates the monthly, quarterly and annual close functions, ensuring that all transitions are booked in a timely manner and in accord with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Works with external auditors as part of the close process
- Directs and integrates changes in processes into the account systems and accounting cycle
- Reviews contracts to ensure billing and revenue is recorded accurately

- Strong financial modeling ability for utilization in budget and forecasting processes
- Ability to synthesize various, independently generated data points into a cohesive analysis
Education and Experience:
