Job Description/Expectations
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of quarterly and annual financials in compliance with GAAP to Group Consolidations accurately and timely.
  • Understand business structure, intercompany relationships, and data flows/sources
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly MD&A as well as Group MD&A documents
  • Coordinate enhancement projects across various systems and platforms
  • Liaise with auditors and assist in audit related requests along with aggregating quarterly compliance-related evidence.
  • Provide guidance to interns, consultants and finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork and positivity.
  • Improve the accuracy and speed of gathering, analyzing and reconciling data by utilizing automation features within Workday and other available tools
  • Cultivate valuable relationships with cross-functional teams as well as affiliated counterparts via collaboration.


Skills
  • Positive Proactive Attitude and energy for solving problems and seeking out new approaches
  • General Accounting proficiency with Bank Reconciliations, Expenses, Accruals, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Financial Reporting and reconciliation
  • Natural ability to take initiative, prioritize and self-manage with a positive attitude and work ethic with cognizance of team importance
  • Capable of identifying and solving problems using good judgment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels and in all areas of the organization
  • Very strong analytical, documentation, organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced pivot, macro skills
  • Familiarity with Workday, Power BI a plus


Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of technical reinsurance accounting experience.
  • CPA and Big 4 experience preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years in Senior Accountant role or similar
