Founded nearly 50 years ago, the facility in Vancouver, WA has a growing product portfolio including mechanical cargo hooks and suspension systems, to proprietary weighing systems and a Human External Cargo (HEC) line of equipment. In addition to serving every major OEM, the company heavily targets helicopter owners like municipal, fire, search and rescue operators and utility companies. In total, we serve over 1,000 customers around the world.

Onboard Systems is seeking an Assistant Controller to support our facility in Vancouver, WA. In this role, you will assist with month-end reconciliations, preparing journal entries, coordinating the month-end close and assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements. This position will work with the Controller to oversee the general ledger, costing, and inventory accounting processes, while working to implement procedures and new processes aligned to scale with the organization.
The Assistant Controller must excel in a deadline-oriented environment and demonstrate a high level of competence in organizing and prioritizing multiple work assignments. The ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals at all organizational levels, as well as the ability to work independently within interpretive guidelines, take initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is key to success in the role.
This is an onsite role for at least 6 months, with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid schedule thereafter.
Responsibilities:
Reconciliations
o Reconcile multiple cash account
o Review GL detail transactions for accuracy
o Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Month End Close
o Assist Controller in completing all month-end close tasks
o Prepare journal entries for Controller approval. Post JE's,
o Preliminary financial statement review - reclassifying entries as needed.
o Identify and implement strategies to improve the close process
Data Analysis & Reporting
o Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management review (sales/bookings/backlog)
o Analyze and report on variances
Financial Reporting
o Assist Controller in preparing financial reporting package to parent company.
Budget
o Assist in the preparation of the annual budget
o Periodic budget review/reforecasting as required
Audit
o Serve as liaison with outside auditors to provided requested documentation at year-end.
Other Duties
o Assist with close process for Meeker Aviation/financial reporting as needed.
o Support Banking & Cash Management functions.
o Create ACH Templates/Approve Vendor ACH Payments as requested.
o Cash reconciliation
o Inventory - assist with cycle counts
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field is required. CPA or public accounting experience preferred
A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong Excel skills and familiarity using a variety of ERP programs (Visual/Fishbowl)
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Salary: $90,000-120,000 annually. Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision insurance, 401K with company match, vacation & holiday pay.
