Description:
To assist DON with planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and overseeing the Nursing Department in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training: Current RN License to practice in NYS from an accredited College or Univ. and/or Bachelor of Science Degree helpful. Skills: Must possess ability to make independent decisions, deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, Gov. Agency/personnel and General Public Experience: Minimum of 3 years Supervisor in LTC or Hospital or other related healthcare facility. Physical Demands: Sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, lift 50lbs and move intermittently throughout day.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily supervision: serve as the primary day time supervisors for the nursing department, including supervision of the NM Clinical supervision: provide support and assistance to each nursing unit, reviewing clinical situations as needed, overseeing adherence to plans of care, acute interventions etc. Staff educator: Assist with instructing and overseeing the Certified Nursing Assistant class as well as administering all annual trainings. Quality Assurance: conduct professional QA reviews/auditing as necessary Orientation: In collaboration with other positions, support the facility programs designed to recruit, orient, and retain employees. Provide feedback on employee performance and individual needs as necessary. Off Shift Communication: Serve as a contact for clinical and scheduling issues for the evening shifts through regular contact with supervisors, and presence on off shifts as necessary to assure facility policies, protocols, etc. are implemented consistently.
