We are looking for a Assistant Director of People & Culture to join the re-opening of the famed Delano Miami Beach.

Set to open its doors in 2025, Delano Miami Beach will fuse historic charm with contemporary luxury, reflecting a reimagined experience that pays homage to the original visionary concept. Comprising 170 rooms and distinct food and beverage concepts, the hotel will preserve its iconic walk-in pool and, in addition, unveil a new pool on an amenity deck, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. Delano Miami Beach will act as the brand's flagship location, re-establishing Delano as a trailblazer in luxury lifestyle hospitality. Ennismore, in partnership with Cain International (the owners of Delano Miami Beach as well as partner in the Delano brand), are currently undertaking a significant renovation and redevelopment of the iconic Delano hotel with an aim to open its doors again ahead of the 2025 winter high season.

As the Assistant Director of People & Culture, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful and timely re-opening of Delano Miami Beach alongside your Director of People & Culture. To start, your primary focus will be leading recruitment - driving the hiring strategy, ensuring we attract and hire top-tier talent for the property's opening and beyond.

Job Description

What you'll do...
  • Lead all recruitment efforts for the hotel. Manage the full recruitment cycle, from job postings, interviews, offer letters, through onboarding for all roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and execute effective hiring strategies.
  • Ensure the recruitment process is efficient, positive, and consistent with both Delano Miami Beach and head office practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with recruitment agencies, job boards, local universities, and other talent sources to expand the reach of the talent pool and establish Delano Miami Beach's reputation.
  • Manage candidate pipelines and oversee the scheduling and coordination of interviews for all levels.
  • Support the development of onboarding programs for new hires, ensuring all departments are set up for success.
  • Help develop, implement, and manage policies, processes, and procedures for the People & Culture department.
  • Assist in leading projects and contribute ideas to improve the overall team experience and hotel operations.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture department, ensuring the smooth functioning of all HR-related tasks, from recruitment to employee relations and everything in between.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the People & Culture Team Members by assigning responsibilities, providing guidance, and ensuring the team is aligned with the department's goals.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining HR policies and programs that align with both local regulations and company standards to guarantee compliance.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures across the entire hotel, working closely with department heads and managers to resolve any compliance issues.
  • Act as a support resource to managers on employment-related matters and assist with team relations and performance management.
  • You'll support our efforts in embedding Delano values and culture as well as Ennismore values into your team.


Qualifications

What we're looking for...
  • You have at least 4 years experience as a human resource manager; preferably in an luxury and lifestyle brand hotel
  • Pre-opening hotel experience is preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of hotel budgeting and compensation data strongly preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to the changing needs of the operation.
  • Ability to take ownership of issues, solve problems and make effective decisions.
  • You're a great communicator - both verbally and written - and a great listener. Fluent in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
  • You are a natural at leading and managing others, and you lead by example, creating an environment where your team can be their best self.
  • You execute. You get things done. You are scarily organized.
  • You have a keen eye for detail and love to share your notes and feedback.
  • You know how to hold people accountable - but make people feel good at the same time.
  • You love people and want to scout, hire and train the best team out there.
