Job Details

To perform assigned reimbursement and accounting functions, complete assigned reports and provide accurate and timely information for review by the Director of Reimbursement or their designee.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation and analysis of any needed schedule and completes reports for interim, monthly and year-end reporting.


  • Prepares/reviews consolidated operating reports, cost reports, financial statement entries and other reports as assigned by management.


  • Assigning training and reviewing staff work.


  • Downloads and organizes rate files for Billing, preparation of Calculator files for Patient accounts and ensures rates are communicated to all parties appropriately, including impact analysis. Coordinates effort within Reimbursement department with IT, Revenue Cycle and other departments as necessary when billing rate updates are required.


  • Utilization of Microsoft Excel models for presumptive charity care analysis, home office cost reports, budget capital reports, and various Medicare/Medicare cost report schedules, working alongside Director and Staff.


  • Plans, and prepares Institutional Cost Report (ICR) including, but not limited to, supporting schedules, memos and accumulation of financial and statistical data. Handles audits with auditors and where amendments are needed moves to make those changes, educating and building process with staff.


  • Coordinates and assists in the preparation and reporting of daily, weekly, monthly and annual statistics for both internal and external reporting, Third Party rate accounts, IME/GME counts, Budget Capital Reporting.


  • Coordinates preparation and submission of monthly reports and payments to the HCRA pools.
  • Coordinates audit response to Third Party Auditors, NGS, CMS, or their agents on S3, ICR and Bad Debts and Charity Care audits. Coordinates audit response to NYS Auditors in relation to DSH/ICR audits.


  • Assists with various required governmental reporting requirements and subsequent third party audits of same.


  • At times, additional hours may be necessary in order to meet deadlines.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • MBA preferred.


Skills:
  • Must be highly organized and possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must have strong analytical ability and be able to multitask as needed.
  • Strong Microsoft Office applications knowledge (Excel) mandatory.


Physical Requirements:
  • Required to sit for long periods of time interspersed with standing, walking and bending.
  • Excellent verbal and auditory skills are required for communicating with internal staff and outside applicants/clients.
  • Near vision acuity is required for maintaining employees' records and computer work.


Experience:
  • Five or more years of Reimbursement Department experience required. New York State - Hospital reimbursement experience preferred.


Posted Salary Range

USD $125,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
