Description:
St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking an Assistant Director of Surgical Services. The Assistant Director (AD), under administrative guidance from the Director of Surgical Services, has the overall responsibility for directing activities in surgery and for supervising the direct and indirect nursing care for specific age groups dependent on the surgery standard of care.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing, BSN required. Master's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred. Maintains a current license to practice nursing in the State of West Virginia.
CERTIFICATION: Required within 3 years of employment
EXPERIENCE:
Three years (3) experience in the Operating Room
Three years (3) Operating Room Management
SKILLS:
Demonstrated competence in clinical nursing, management and leadership skills. Initiative and judgment in determining needs of the service; patience and tact in dealing with personnel, administration, medical staff and the public; knowledge of good personnel policies
and practices; ability to maintain an understanding attitude toward patients, personnel, physicians and the public; ability to make decisions; ability to get along with superiors, associates and subordinates.
