An Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations through thorough analysis and review of financial data. They serve as a key member of the Accounting Department.

Salary
Salary: $88,606.32 per year
The UCE-FIT Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) dictates the compensation, benefits, and conditions of employment. Hiring Salary: $88,606.32 per year with step increments per Salary Schedule 95, after one year of service and annually thereafter.

The physical requirement for this position will require constant sitting, occasional standing, occasional bending, occasional walking, and occasional lifting 50 lbs. or less. The working conditions for this position will be on campus primarily in an office environment.

Job Description:
An Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations through thorough analysis and review of financial data. They serve as a key member of the Accounting Department.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing all accounting operations and financial reporting for the Federal Title IV financial aid programs such as Pell, SEOG, CWS and Perkins.
- Assist with managing all accounting operations and financial reporting for bank reconciliation, county chargebacks, prepaid expenses, liabilities, DASNY and students accounts.
- Assist with reconciling inter-corporate receivables and transfers.
- Assist with reconciling payroll and benefits accounts such as payroll taxes, medical, dental, flex 403(B), disability, life insurance, etc.
- Assist with reconciling accrued salaries and benefits.
- Process and manage the bank positive pay system, including uploading and reviewing positive pay items.
- Represent Accounting Department as the point of contact for resolving complex issues related to accounting making informed decisions that align with College policies.
- Provide support and assistance with audits and other related matters as needed.

Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business field required.
- A minimum of five years of relevant business experience in accounting or audit preferably at an institution of higher education, not-for-profit or public sector.
- A minimum of three years of supervisory/managerial experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Experience with mainframe accounting software, preferably Finance Enterprise.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting, finance and bookkeeping principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial processing system.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective multitasking and time management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of integrity and strong work ethic.
