DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Our Operating Room nursing team members have an opportunity to participate in innovative perioperative technology, and the advancement of patient care through ongoing research, education and quality improvement activities. This includes a variety of surgical procedures. You can be a part of this highly skilled team, working within a culture that is collaborative. Here, you will work in tandem with physicians and other health care practitioners to provide superior, nursing care.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Acts as a shift supervisor, responsible for clinical functions, staffing assignments, and care coordination
Acts as the main onsite leadership when the Nurse Manager is not present
Collaborates with Nurse Manager on day-to-day operations
Performs patient intakes, evaluations, and assessments
Oversees patient placement and throughput
Plans, implements, and evaluates unit orientation for clinical staff (RNs and CNAs)
Plans and implements educational offerings to enhance the delivery of care
Fosters clinical excellence and incorporates clinical standards into daily practice
Participates in organizational committees, taskforces, and work groups
Provides performance feedback to the Nurse Manager during annual performance evaluations
Provides "just in time" feedback to staff regarding clinical performance, interpersonal team interactions, and patient communications
Responds appropriately to emergency situations and drills
Promotes practices and decisions that reduce human error and promote patient safety
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
2 years of current or recent Surgical nursing experience
Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State
