UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER (Registered Nurse 3) to join our Surgical Services Department, Urology & Uro-Gynecology service line.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 40 hours per week

  • 10 hour shifts

    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

    The assistant nurse manager/RN3 will support Urology and Uro-Gyn service lines at Northwest Main and Outpatient Surgery Center. This role is critical to support operational excellence OR competency in a complex/diverse/high volume service.

    POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

    Work in coordination with the nursing leadership in Surgical Services to ensure the work is accomplished safely, efficiently, and according to best practice. The RN3 serves as leadership support for staff, physicians, and other related providers on service-specific clinical issues. The RN3 requires a demonstration of leadership, clinical, communication, both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    Provides expert nursing care to surgical patients by maintaining:

  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills needed to function as a subject matter expert for their assigned service line.

  • Demonstrates efficiency, flexibility, and appropriate prioritization in ensuring daily availability of service line supplies, instrumentation, and equipment for patient care.

  • Collaborates with leadership to build reference /library of best practices / processes for onboarding / training team members to be competent at delivering service.

  • Demonstrates effective communication with surgeons, staff, and resources (internal and external) to support service line.

  • Maintains equipment, instrumentation, preference cards, within the specialty area.

    REQUIREMENTS

  • Two years OR Nursing experience

  • Operating room circulating experience with a variety of specialties

  • Experience in service line coordination

  • Proficiency in EPIC
