Sheridan County School District No. 2 is seeking a friendly, professional, and dedicated Assistant Principal to help lead our staff and students at the Sheridan Junior High School!
This position will be offered a starting annual salary of $90,000-$115,000 (depending on experience), will receive a 205-day contract, and medical/dental family insurance paid in full. The Wyoming Retirement System pension plan requires an 18.12% contribution of an employee's total salary; SCSD2 pays 14.94% of this contribution and the employee pays 3.68% of this contribution. Annual paid leave consists of 19 holidays, 2 personal days, and 10 sick days. A summary of our benefits can be reviewed here. This position will begin in July, 2025.
SCSD2 offers temporary housing and a pre-k program based on availability.

REPORTS TO: SJHS Principal
SUPERVISES: Sheridan Junior High School staff members, as designated by the SJHS Principal
JOB GOAL: To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Administer student discipline in a manner consistent with school and district guidelines and beliefs.
2. Assist with the supervision of assigned non-certified and certified personnel in a manner consistent with school and district guidelines.
3. Provide for accurate record keeping in all phases of school life requiring accurate records. Such records include, but may not be limited to, attendance of students and staff, supervisory records, and records related to maintenance and safety, as well as all records required by local, state, and federal law.
4. Assist in the development and implementation of curriculum as assigned.
5. Assist in the development and implementation of measures designed to ensure quality instruction.
6. Ensures that written and oral communications with all groups related to school life are timely, accurate, and professional.
7. Communicate and function with all public (students, parents, staff, community, etc.) in a manner that supports the goals of the school, the district, and public education.
8. Assist in setting, achieving, and assessing goals related to the various school improvement processes.
9. Promote supervision by displaying presence and visibility to students and staff in and around the building on a daily basis.
10. Participate in staff selection, defining assignments, orientations, and evaluations.
11. Coordinate with public agencies that provide services to students and staff.
12. Promote leadership that is consistent and fair.
OTHER FUNCTIONS AS ASSIGNED:
1. Conduct fire and safety drills.
2. Supervise student activities.
3. Attend student activities.
4. Assist in building master schedules.
5. Conduct staff meetings.
6. Attend district meetings and functions.
7. Draft and update student and staff handbooks.
8. Attend special education meetings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Must be able to communicate on the telephone.
2. Must be able to physically move from area to area at the site.
3. Must be able to perform duties outside at lunch, before and after school and during evening activities.
4. Must be able to respond to sick or injured students and staff.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Two hundred five (205) days with salary and fringe benefits to be set by Board of Trustees.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Assistant Superintendent and/or Superintendent.
