Goddard Middle School is a 6-8th grade school with 540 students from diverse backgrounds. We offer comprehensive educational programming that includes core offerings in general education, gifted and talented, special education including an Affective Needs program and English language development. We also offer exploratory electives for all students that include physical education, art, drama, Spanish, choir, STEM, band and orchestra. Goddard has also implemented the Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS), Sources of Strength, National Junior Honors Society and Student Council. Goddard Middle School aims to educate the whole child which includes social/emotional, academic, and cultural aspects.
Goddard Middle School is seeking an assistant principal with demonstrated effective instructional leadership skills that positively impact and support student achievement and enhance teacher capacity. The assistant principal is expected to develop, foster and guide a safe, caring and collaborative school community that includes all stakeholders.
Required Skills and Abilities:
EDUCATION and CERTIFICATION:
1. Masters degree required.
2. Hold or be qualified to hold a Colorado principal or administrative license.
3. Minimum of five years experience in teaching and/or school administration.
4. Dean or Assistant Principal experience preferred but not required
STARTING SALARY RANGE: Minimum $88,878 to Midpoint $108,107
WORK YEAR: 214 contract days

- Knowledge of student assessment and data analysis for instruction and continuous improvement
- Planning, organization, management, supervision and evaluation skills
- Ability to create and foster a positive and inclusive school culture and climate with an equity focus
- Ability to work respectfully with diverse groups in the school and community
- Knowledge and skills in fostering equity and innovation for all students and the total school program
- Strategic planning, problem-solving and project management skills
- Development of a schedule of clases/courses to structure the learning experiences of students throughout the school year that meets the state and district requirements for use of instructional time
