What to Expect in the Hiring Process
Ascend follows a multi-step hiring process to ensure we select instructional leaders who align with our mission and school model:
Phone Screen - A brief conversation to assess mission alignment and leadership philosophy. Virtual Interview - A structured discussion on instructional coaching, school culture, and team leadership. Pre-Work Assignment - A short task (analyzing student data or planning professional development) to evaluate leadership approach and strategic thinking. In-Person Interview & School Visit - A leadership scenario-based interview and a visit to an Ascend school. Offer & Background Check - Upon successful completion of the process, candidates receive an offer pending a background check.

- Manages School Operations to support teachers and maintain a structured culture.
- Develops Talent through mentorship and leadership pipelines.
- Leads Strategically with data-driven decisions and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in education or leadership preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of teaching experience and one to two years in a leadership role.
- Skills: Strong instructional expertise, ability to analyze and use data to drive decision-making, and proficiency with instructional technology and leadership frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Instructional Leadership: Coach teachers, analyze student data, and ensure curriculum alignment.
- School Culture: Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations, foster an inclusive environment, and implement school-wide systems.
- Talent Development: Evaluate teachers, provide coaching, and develop future leaders.
- Operations & Strategy: Support school initiatives, oversee student discipline, and strengthen family partnerships.

Compensation
- Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000, determined based on experience and education level using an equitable compensation scale
