POSITION: Fort Lupton High School Assistant Principal/Athletic Director (approximately 750 students, Grades 9-12)

SALARY RANGE: Administrative Salary Schedule Plus School District Comprehensive Benefits Package. Salary range of $89,891-$117,060 depending on experience and education.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

A FLHS Assistant Principal/Athletic Director assists the building principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to the learning and development of Weld Re-8 students in the classroom and athletically. Provides leadership in the development, organization, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the athletic programs. Achieving excellence requires that the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director works collaboratively to lead and nurture members of the staff and to communicate effectively with parents, members of the community, and colleagues in other districts and schools. Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for planning, curriculum development, program evaluation, personnel management, and financial management. As the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director you will be responsible for the evaluation and oversight of the Elective teaching staff, coaches, activity sponsors and trainer. The Assistant Principal/Athletic Director works collaboratively with the other Assistant Principal and acts in the capacity of the principal during the principal's absence from the school.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
  • M. A. in Educational Administration or related area; prefer candidates who hold or who are able to obtain a Colorado Initial Principal or Professional Principal License. Will consider candidates who are in an administrative licensure program.
  • Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience.
  • Experience as an administrator or teacher leader is preferred.
  • Experience in coaching of any sports or sponsorship of activities is preferred.
  • Demonstrated school leadership and instructional leadership abilities; able to lead change and manage transitions; keep focus on student achievement; lead, implement, monitor and revise school improvement plans; communicate and collaborate with district leadership; maintain a focus on school reform that provides rigor, relevance and positive relationship for students.
  • Prefer experience in evaluating and coaching instructional personnel, classified personnel and coaches/sponsors.
  • Prefer experience in supervising, directing and evaluating athletics and/or activities programs.
  • Prefer experience in administering a comprehensive student discipline program; prefer experience with Positive Behavior Support System.
  • Demonstrated skills and ability to work with teachers and coaches in developing effective teaching strategies in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment in staff and community relations, supporting and developing/promoting a positive school climate, shared decision-making, site-based management and school improvement processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure student academic success.
  • Thoroughly grounded in public school education and effective classroom instruction.
  • Computer and technology skills required.
  • Bilingual/Biliterate skills Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required. Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Development and maintenance of parent and community partnerships
  • Oversight of building athletic budget, activity accounts, and fundraise dollars
  • Hiring, supervision and evaluation of athletic coaches and club sponsors
  • Development, maintenance and implementation of athletic schedules, including the scheduling of transportation needs and game officials
  • Facilities management, including building-wide schedules, routine care, and critical or long-term maintenance issues with district maintenance staff
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Assure that coaches and players adhere to the CHSAA bylaws.
  • Schedule all competitions.
  • Provide transportation and logistics for all team travel for both athletics and activities
  • Coordinate and provide officials for all home competitions
  • Provide supervision for home events and activities
  • Verify that all athletes are academically eligible to compete.
  • Purchase all equipment and uniforms.
  • Provide adequate practice and playing facilities.
  • Respond to all parent concerns and issues both academically and athletically.
  • Be the District Advisor to the Booster club.

  • Assignment starting date: July 22, 2024 (205 day contract).
