ADMINISTRATOR VACANCY
Position is for the 2024-2025 school year

POSITION: Assistant School Director
LOCATION: Mapleton Early Career Prep
PAY RANGE: Admin Salary Range, $100,000 - $135,000
CALENDAR: 220 Days
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: School Director

MAPLTEON EARLY CAREER PREP:
Mapleton Early Career Prep is a Big Picture school with a "one student at a time" approach to education. Students have a customized, independent Learning Plan (ILP), balancing classes, workshops, independent learning, real-world learning through professional internships, and access to college courses aligned to their unique ILP. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the Alternative Cooperative Education (ACE) Pathway. Student opportunities in this pathway are created in collaboration with educators, business representatives, and community stakeholders and create locally responsive, relevant work-based, and school-based learning experiences. Students demonstrate competency in Postsecondary Workforce Readiness (PWR), which leads to technical skill attainment in any chosen occupation with a focus on high-wage occupations or high-skill in high-demand industries that promote self-sufficiency.

By senior year, students have learned to become problem-solvers, lifelong learners, and cooperative members of the community, preparing them for college, career, and life.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master of Arts degree or equivalent is required.
  • Hold or be eligible to hold a Colorado Principal License.
  • Administrative experience at school level preferred.
  • Two to three years' experience as an "Instructional Guide" preferred.
  • Must meet the requirement for evidence-based reading training in the Science of Reading.
  • Knowledge of Colorado School Law, District Policies, and school reform.
  • Experience with English language learners.
  • Spanish language proficiency preferred.
  • Grounded in values conducive to leading a diverse learning community toward a compelling vision.

  • PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Performing all duties as currently prescribed by Colorado Law and CDE regulations, Federal School Law, District policies, and procedures.
  • Vision/Mission - providing leadership in establishing, communicating, and implementing the Mission/Vision for the school and community, and communicating that vision to the district's constituents.
  • Communication/Human Relations - communicating with diverse groups effectively by utilizing a variety of techniques and systems.
  • Instructional Leadership - utilizing available resources, knowledge, and skills to ensure consistent effective instructional practices.
  • Student Behavior - providing for a safe and orderly environment, through the development of school-wide culture-building practices and emphasis on a "caring community."
  • Professional Development - providing leadership for a staff development program designed to promote and support the professional growth and development of professional skills consistent with his/her responsibilities and performance.
  • Organization and Management - organizing time, people, and other resources for efficient operation of the school.
  • Evaluation/Supervision - supervising certified and classified employees according to District policy and procedures to improve employee performance. This supervision will include written evaluations of school staff, and assistance with data collection for the evaluation of other district staff.
  • Focus on Learning - ensuring that students learn at high levels by holding high expectations and monitoring results.

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of District Policy and state law.
