ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR OF MATHEMATICS
To assist the Supervisor of Mathematics in administering, enhancing, and evaluating all aspects of comprehensive PreK-12 mathematics program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES MAY

Supports the Supervisor of Mathematics in providing leadership in the implementation of a comprehensive, coherent, and effective PreK-12 mathematics program.
Develops systems and structures to monitor and evaluate curriculum and assessment development, instructional implementation, and professional development.
Coordinates, conducts, and evaluates professional development to promote and support the implementation of the high-quality mathematics instruction.
Participates in the teacher appraisal process for mathematics teachers in conjunction with school based Instructional Leadership Teams.
Assists in the recruitment, selection, and placement of mathematics teachers.
Communicates current research and best practices in curriculum, instruction, and assessment to professional learning communities including department chairpersons and specialists.
Serves as a consultant to administrators, teachers, and others at all levels regarding the mathematics program.
Assists in the coordination, monitoring, and evaluation of mathematics programs.
Assists in the evaluation of course specific instructional materials and technology and assists schools in selecting and purchasing appropriate instructional materials.
Serves as a member of system-wide committees pertaining to mathematics.
Serves as a liaison to the Maryland State Department of Education, Harford Community College, and other agencies and groups pertaining to all mathematics related issues.
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
SALARY
This is a twelve-month position with twenty (20) days of annual leave. Salary range based on Grade 2 of the FY 2024-2025 APSASHC Salary Schedule for Administrative and Supervisory Personnel - 12 Month Employees. Starting Salary: $124,769- Maximum Earnings Potential $150,735. Those who are entering or returning to employment with Harford County Public Schools will begin on Step 1.

FLSA: Exempt
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
Must hold or be eligible for a Maryland Advanced Certificate or Maryland Professional License with an endorsement in mathematics and Administrator I.
Five years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and other related computer technology.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
Excellent organization skills.
