We are looking for an Assistant Vice President - Underwriting to join us, whether remotely or at our Home Office in Brookfield, WI.
As the Assistant Vice President - Underwriting, you'll take on a leadership role where your experience and skills in underwriting will have a direct impact on the growth of the company. You will supervise a team, providing mentorship and guidance to help them excel in their roles while ensuring our underwriting processes are in line with company guidelines. You will oversee the review of underwriting submissions to guarantee they meet the standards of both the company and the industry. You'll work closely with field personnel, providing training on underwriting methods and offering support to ensure that both new and existing business is underwritten appropriately.
In this role, the Assistant Vice President - Underwriting will not only manage and mentor a talented team but also play a crucial role in shaping the underwriting guidelines and ensuring their adherence across various territories. Your leadership will help us deliver profitable growth while staying nimble and responsive to market changes. You'll be in constant interaction with agents, customers, and branch personnel to develop strong relationships, identify new business opportunities, and drive production.
As part of our team, you'll keep a keen eye on market developments, evaluating how they impact our current accounts and uncover new opportunities. Your role will be essential in guiding the underwriting strategy for specific regions, collaborating with home office underwriting management to ensure policies remain up to date, and fostering alignment with our business objectives.
To be successful in this role, the Assistant Vice President - Underwriting will need to have at least eight years of experience as a bond underwriter, with a solid background in marketing, agency, and management. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. We're looking for someone with a deep understanding of underwriting, a knack for leadership, and a passion for creating an inclusive, dynamic work environment where teams can succeed.
