Industry leading distribution company in the Etna, OH area is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager for their night shift operations. This person will play a crucial role in supporting the Warehouse Manager in overseeing all aspects of warehouse operations. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of warehouse processes. The Assistant Warehouse Manager will assist in managing daily operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and safety within the warehouse, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Responsibilities:Operational Support: Assist the Senior Warehouse Manager in overseeing daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping. Monitor and ensure adherence to established standard operating procedures (SOPs). Assist in managing inventory control, including cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and inventory accuracy. Support the implementation and maintenance of the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Coordinate with transportation providers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods. Ensure efficient space utilization and assist in optimizing warehouse layout. Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions. Team Leadership & Supervision: Supervise and motivate warehouse staff, providing guidance and support. Assist in training and onboarding new warehouse employees. Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to the Senior Warehouse Manager. Assist in scheduling and assigning tasks to warehouse personnel. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Resolve employee conflicts and address performance issues in a timely manner. Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular cycle counts. Monitor inventory levels and identify potential stock discrepancies. Support the implementation of inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage and ensure accuracy. Assist in managing returns and damaged goods. Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards. Promote a safe working environment and enforce safety procedures. Assist in maintaining accurate safety records and documentation. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to warehousing and inventory management. Performance & Reporting: Assist in monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyze warehouse data and identify areas for improvement. Assist in preparing reports on warehouse performance and inventory levels. Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in the budget creation and expense monitoring. Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other warehouse technologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
