Description of Work Unit
The department currently comprises 24 faculty and over 100 graduate students in our MS, MAS, and PhD graduate programs, and has a network of faculty affiliates at nearby research agencies (National Center for Atmospheric Research, National Institute of Standards and Technology, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, among others). Our faculty members have a wide range of expertise and are involved in various interdisciplinary graduate training and research activities. Internal and external consulting activities of the department are supported through the Graybill Statistical Laboratory. Fort Collins, located one hour north of Denver in a beautiful location along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, offers abundant recreational and cultural opportunities.

Position Summary
We will be hiring two tenure-track Faculty positions in the Department of Statistics.
The Associate or senior Assistant Professor position will have duties commencing August 2021. A doctoral degree in statistics or a closely related field, and a commitment to high-quality research in statistics and excellence in teaching are required. The focus of this search is on researchers working in applied probability, statistical learning or data science, with preference given to researchers who made contributions to statistical theory underlying some of these fields. However, all exceptionally strong scholars who contributed to the areas listed above are encouraged to apply.
The Assistant Professor position will also have duties commencing August 2021. A doctoral degree in statistics or a closely related field, and a commitment to high-quality research in statistics and excellence in teaching are required. The focus of this search is on researchers working in high-dimensional probability, statistical learning or data science, with preference given to researchers who made contributions to statistical theory underlying some of these fields. A Ph.D. in statistics or a related field, a commitment to high-quality research in statistics or probability, and excellence in teaching are required for both positions.
Preferred Job Qualifications
For the Assistant/Associate position, strong evidence of excellence in research in applied probability and/or the theory of statistical learning or data science is preferred. Evidence of external grant support and interdisciplinary collaborations is preferred.
For the Assistant Professor position, evidence of, or strong potential for, excellence in research in high-dimensional probability and/or the theory of statistical learning or data science is preferred.
