The Division of Child Development and Rehabilitation at theUniversity of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) is excited to offera 1.0 FTE position to a pediatric psychologist who is interested in developingtheir career working with children with neurodevelopmental differences andtheir families. The Division is a growing program with the vision of providingcomprehensive care to infants, toddlers, children and adolescents withdevelopmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities. The pediatricpsychologist will provide psychoeducational evaluations, developmentalevaluations and behavioral assessments to facilitate these children in meetingtheir full potential and having the best quality of life. The psychologist willcollaborate with an interdisciplinary team to meet each child's needs. Theywill also provide behavioral intervention to help the child and family achievetheir goals.
The successful candidate has an opportunity to participatein education, research and quality improvement. There is collaboration with theUniversity of Illinois system, OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois, JumpTrading Simulation and Education Center, Easterseals of Central Illinois,Cerebral Palsy Research Network and others.
Position Summary
The Division of Child Development and Rehabilitation in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is looking to add pediatric psychology to the program. The pediatric psychologist will work with developmental behavioral pediatrics, neurodevelopmental pediatrics, child development advanced practice registered nurses, social work, dietitian, nurses, and additional clinical staff to provide comprehensive care to patient with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and neurodevelopmental disabilities. The Child Development and Rehabilitation Program is an active program working in the areas of autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, pediatric feeding disorders, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, congenital heart neurodevelopmental follow-up, Down Syndrome and other genetic syndrome follow-up.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct psychoeducational testing and other developmental tests as part of neurodevelopmental assessment along with neurodevelopmental and developmental behavioral providers.
- Participation in the development of treatment plans for infants and children with neurodevelopmental disabilities with an interdisciplinary team.
- Developmental testing for infants and toddlers who are at risk for neurodevelopmental disabilities
- Collaboration in patient and family care with the Child Development and Rehabilitation Team including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social work, dietitians and other clinical staff.
- Writing of comprehensive assessment reports.
- Provide behavioral interventions for this special group of children.
- Treatment of behavioral issues common to children with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
- Teaching medical students, residents and fellows in pediatrics, nurse practitioner fellows.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD or PsyD in psychology
- APA internship in Child or Pediatric psychology
- Psychoeducational and developmental testing in children with developmental and neurodevelopmental concerns
- Experience in behavioral interventions in children with intellectual and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
- Current Illinois Registration/licensure in clinical psychology or eligible in Illinois
Preferred Qualifications
- Fellowship in pediatric psychology.
- Experience working with children and their families who have complex medical conditions.
- Interest in leading/participating in research or quality improvement in the area of child development and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
- Interest in providing supervision to fellows in pediatric psychology in the future
