The Toronto office of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG), Canada's leading, innovative and client-focused law firm, is seeking an:

Associate - Construction

The candidate will have an opportunity to join Canada's largest construction law group and work alongside professionals recognized for their extensive and in-depth industry experience.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 - 5 years experience in construction or infrastructure law. The candidate will be motivated, a team player, take great pride in their work, and have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

This role will offer the successful candidate the following opportunities:
  • Acting on behalf of owners, engineering consultants, construction managers, contractors, subcontractors and sureties in disputes arising from public and private construction and infrastructure projects across Canada and internationally.
  • Drafting, advising and negotiating contracts for procurement and construction.
  • Advising on a broad range of construction issues such as breach of contract, breach of trust and construction liens.
  • Being a team member of a busy national construction group, ranked as Chambers Canada Band 1.
  • Career advancement and development.
