The University of New Mexico Foundation seeks applications for the position of Associate Athletics Director for Major Gifts. Under the guidance of the Senior Associate Vice President for Central Development at the UNM Foundation and the Director of Athletics, the candidate will work closely with Lobo Club staff, coaches, and volunteers to identify prospects, develop strategies leading to solicitation, and steward major and planned gift donors ($25k and above). The Associate Athletics Director will be assigned a specific portfolio of prospects that have the potential to give to the Athletics Department at the major gift level.

Must be able to drive personal vehicle for University and Foundation business (mileage reimbursed) and hold a valid driver's license with current insurance, and a clean driving record. Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of criminal, driving record, and employment background screening. Some positions may also require credit background screening as well.
Compensation Salary Range
$80,000 - $88,000
Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Primary Responsibilities
- Organize and lead the major gift efforts for UNM Athletics.
- Serve as the key staff liaison for the Director of Athletics and their work with major and planned giving donors and documenting that activity in the donor database.
- Manage and increase the membership of the Lobo Champions Council (the highest-level giving society for Athletics) and Forever Lobo Society (the group of donors who have made planned gifts to Athletics), and help raise support for NIL and revenue sharing programs.
- Serve as one of the primary fundraising contacts for new/upgraded facilities.
- Manage a portfolio of major gift and planned gift prospects and design and implement appropriate cultivation and solicitation activities for each (with a focus on multiyear cash pledges and endowments).
- Will be held accountable to development metrics such as face-to-face visits, "other" contacts, major gift proposals, and gift closings per year.
- Coordinate the involvement of appropriate board, coaches, or staff members in the planning of solicitation strategies.
- Manage collaborative working relationships with fundraising colleagues and other campus schools and units, to develop strategies for joint solicitation.
- Oversight of Assistant AD of Premium Seating.
Required Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution required.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years progressively responsible experience in athletics development required, preferable in higher education environment or related experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years fundraising experience with a track record of success securing gifts at the $25,000+ level.
