Overview

LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a highly motivated Associate Clinical Dental Director to join our team at our Berkeley Dental Center. The ideal candidate must commit to providing comprehensive dental care, and they should be interested in building collaborative teams and working with underserved populations. The Associate Clinical Dental Director is the lead dentist at their assigned dental site who closely works with the dental center manager to ensure that patient care is coordinated consistently with the other center dentists. Additionally, they have a clear understanding of our procedure process and policies.

We provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and school-based services at more than 15 primary care sites across Oakland, Berkeley, and West Contra Costa County. Benefits:

Compensation: $168,000-$172,000/year and excellent benefits: medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, dependent and domestic partner coverage, 403(b) retirement savings plan, loan repayment programs, and commuter benefits. LifeLong qualifies for federal and state loan repayment programs (HPSA score is 23). Acceptance rates may vary year to year based on funding levels and the number of applicants.

Responsibilities

  • The associate dental director is responsible for ensuring that patients who receive care at their respective clinics receive care that is consistent with the policies and procedures of LifeLong Medical Care.
  • Assist their fellow dental providers with care when they need assistance.
  • Attend AMD and Center Director meetings.
  • Communicate with AMDs and ADDs regarding patient care and policy and procedure.
  • Contribute to developing or supporting projects and implementing programs.
  • Report to the Chief Dental Officer Responsible for.
  • Support the Center Manager in creating a positive and productive dental center.
  • Provide orientation and support to newly hired or transferred staff dentists.
  • Provides clinic support to the Center Manager.
  • Participate in the dental provider meeting.
  • Help the dental center manager create a positive, productive clinic.
  • Oversee and/or assign student learners to providers and help support the training of student DAs or D4 students.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position has direct staff supervisory responsibilities:
  • Staff dentists (Clinical Care)
  • Dental Assistants (Clinical Care)

Job Requirements
  • A Staff Dentist in good standing at LifeLong.
  • Possess a valid California Dental License, DEA number
  • CAQH PAVE/ORP
  • Possess a high-level clinical skill set.
  • Understanding of the employee handbook and clinical sequencing.
  • five years' experience as a dentist.
  • two years' supervisory/leadership experience.
  • Proficient in Dentrix, MIPacs, Epic, and Microsoft Word
