What is the opportunity?
As an Associate Director, you will help manage interactions with a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders including regulators, auditors, operational risk, enterprise policy and Capital Markets. Deliverables will primarily include corporate governance and controls oversight, financial reporting, updating policies & procedures, coordinating reviews by internal and external audit, resolving operational risk issues, facilitating adhoc regulatory request issues etc. You will also help the leadership team strive for high levels of employee engagement by facilitating work of various in-house committees. You will gain exposure to RBC and Capital Markets products, services, business and platform to become subject matter expert.

Job Description
What is the opportunity?
As an Associate Director, you will help manage interactions with a broad spectrum of internal and external stakeholders including regulators, auditors, operational risk, enterprise policy and Capital Markets. Deliverables will primarily include corporate governance and controls oversight, financial reporting, updating policies & procedures, coordinating reviews by internal and external audit, resolving operational risk issues, facilitating adhoc regulatory request issues etc. You will also help the leadership team strive for high levels of employee engagement by facilitating work of various in-house committees. You will gain exposure to RBC and Capital Markets products, services, business and platform to become subject matter expert.
What will you do?
- Act as a point person for all on-site internal and external audit reviews, including coordination of action plans. Attend quarterly meetings and ensure testing of SOX and other Key Controls.
- Prepare timely and comprehensive key management reporting and liaise with Risk Managers/Executives/business partners as needed.
- Coordinate all outstanding Internal Audit, Operational Risk and Regulatory Compliance issues to ensure appropriate remediation and post-closure adherence.
- Facilitate timely renewals of enterprise and WCR specific policies and procedures.
- Manage interactions with finance partners and coordinate quarterly forecasts and annual planning.
- Oversee the Operational Risk portfolio and submissions for Wholesale credit (including the quarterly Key Risk Indicators) and escalate operational risk issues to GRM and Operational Risk Management as required
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Minimum 4+ years of experience with at least 1 year in risk management or other functions.
- Knowledge of processes, standards and products related to corporate lending, credit risk management and capital markets.
- Business degree and a high proficiency in writing and communication skills.
- Capable of managing executive level discussions.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Nice-to-have
- Knowledge of project management process an asset.
- Knowledge of Canadian, US or International regulatory/audit/ accounting standards, and business processes in financial services.
