Description/Job Summary
As a member of the Advancement team, the Associate Director for Alumni Relations is responsible for executing Baltimore City Community College's (BCCC) Alumni engagement strategy. The Associate Director reports to the Vice President of Advancement and supports the President regarding alumni relations. The Associate Director manages the execution, direction and coordination of all Alumni engagement events and fosters excellent alumni relations with BCCC's Alumni Association. This position maintains the integrity and accuracy of Alumni data tracked in the organizational database. The Associate Director possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as comprehensive knowledge about BCCC and its history. The individual works in a shared governance environment with diverse populations of students and staff to embrace and promote the mission and core values of the College.

BCCC is the only community college in Baltimore City, one of 16 community colleges in Maryland, and both a higher education institution and a State of Maryland agency.

Responsibilities/Duties
- Develops and implements Alumni engagement to meet Strategic Plan goal by increasing number of alumni volunteers and alumni donors.
- Serves as the liaison and guide to, and partners with, BCCC's Alumni Association to expand Alumni engagement.
- Ensures effective coordination with internal teams related to Alumni Relations.
- Works collaboratively with the Advancement team in promoting contribution campaigns.
- Establishes and maintains strong and mutually beneficial relationships with Alumni and external contacts.
- Maintains orderly and accurate Alumni records.
- Primarily uses database to accurately record, track and report Alumni donations.
- Manages the execution, direction, and coordination of all Alumni events including Alumni Association meetings, reunions, and open houses.
- Manages the execution, direction, and coordinator of various alumni events in collaboration with the Director of Development.
- Manages a portfolio of Sponsors and Corporate Partners that support alumni events and initiatives.
- Responsible for meeting quantifiable goals.
- Travels throughout the Baltimore Metro area, representing BCCC and building relationships with its donors, prospects, and Alumni.
- Coordinates with Development and Marketing Director on consistent messaging and branding of BCCC to external and internal audiences.
- Collaborates with the Development Team, to contribute and ensure the success of fundraising and special events.
- Performs fundraising activities to support the accomplishments of the advancement of BCCC's mission and program objectives.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in Communications or Marketing, or a bachelor's degree in any field with community networking experience. Master's Degree preferred. Valid Driver's License.
- 5 years minimum experience in alumni relations and external relations & prior experience working in higher education preferred.
- Strong organizational and persuasive communicative skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Successful execution of projects in a timely manner.
- Functional skills with Windows, Microsoft Office, Alumni Software and Data Management Software.
- Commitment to BCCC's mission and values.
- Events require minimal physical setup for presentations.
