Essential Duties
1. Provides a high level of expertise in social media and mobile implementation. Develops, recommends and manages complex workflows involving all web communications and other digital assets. 2. Monitors Yale presence in social media. Recommends strategic approaches to new social media options. 3. Advises Communications Officers on social media content; edits and posts multiple communications daily to create an active, impactful presence for Yale University in the social media sphere. 4. Understands and serves as back-up production officer for all communications systems; works with colleagues to assign production coverage schedules. 5. Manages relationships with campus partners and clients with a heavy focus on customer service and the ability to influence. 6. Works collaboratively with interactive teams to create a seamless communications effort, with the goal of ensuring Yale's pre-eminence in communicating its key programs and stories. 7. Maintains shared server resources. 8. Serves as manager/architect for all communication installed technology. Maintains inventories, negotiates replacements, and serves as interface to IT services for key technologies. 9. Troubleshoots technical issues for communication staff; interfaces with DSP Team 3 for assistance with unresolved issues. 10. May perform other duties as assigned.

Position Focus:
The Yale Alumni Association (YAA) is responsible for university-wide alumni relations programs and for organizing and supporting events, programs, initiatives, and other opportunities to strengthen alumni relationships with Yale. Reporting to the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing, this position supports the association's strategic efforts to grow institutional awareness via social media and other communication channels.
Manages and oversees all YAA social media channels, including Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Instagram, as well as new platforms as appropriate. Create YAA-specific social content and observe other Yale-affiliated channels for content of interest to alumni audiences to share via YAA digital channels. Triages and responds, as needed, to comments on social channels. Contributes to coordinated social media strategy for YAA and other departments.
Coordinates YAA's social media marketing and advertising.
Generates reports, analyzes data, and makes meaningful observations and recommendations for YAA's social media channels.
Oversees YAA Canva account, including keeping templates up to date, training staff members, and designing basic imagery for staff and social media use.
Manages the YAA's digital networking platform, Cross Campus, including marketing its features and overseeing any enhancements and upgrades.
Assists and advises on YAA email marketing strategies and email creation. Maintains and coordinates internal email calendar and makes suggestions for strategic collaborations and timing.
In coordination with the Senior Director, contributes to editorial content and highlights key stories on social media.
Researches story ideas, solicits staff and alumni writers and subjects, and writes and edits articles for website and social media publications.
Collaborates with the Office of Public Affairs and Communications (OPAC), Office of Development (ODV), and other campus communications professionals to leverage their expertise and to promote university messages and content of interest to alumni and friends.
Contributes to developing outreach plans for signature YAA programs and events, including YAA Assembly, Yale
Day of Service, online services for alumni, and Yale College Reunions. Manages or supports social media and e-marketing aspects of these outreach efforts.
Manages YAA Photo Courtyard, including training staff on use, reviewing imported assets, and maintaining and expanding tagged metadata.
Manages the hiring of social media student workers and assigns tasks as needed.
Assists with and coordinates video and digital content projects when needed. Maintains and expands YAA's presence on YouTube and Vimeo channels.
Participates in and staffs alumni activities sponsored by the YAA such as Yale College Reunions and the
Assembly, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
