Position Summary
The Associate Director of Nursing will work closely with the RTF providers, supervise RTF staff nurses, and provide coordinated medical and health services under the supervision of the Director of Nursing
Essential Functions:
Collaborates with the Director of Nursing in maintaining staff overtime and RTF needs for nursing personnel.
Works closely with Medical and Psychiatric Providers at the RTF.
Oversee, coordinate and schedule in-house and outside medical appointments.
Assists Medical Provider(s) during in-house medical evaluations.
Phlebotomy, Administering Vaccines and keeping all records up to date.
Responsible for ordering medication, supplies, equipment and keeping inventory via Excel Spreadsheet.
Oversee all processes associated with the Vaccines for Children (VFC) Program and Digital Data Temperature Monitoring of the Vaccine Refrigerator
Scanning documents, uploading lab results and other documents in the EHR
Demonstrates, teaches, and evaluates nursing staff skills
Assesses nursing staff work performances, completes semi and annual clinical staff competency and performance evaluation reviews
Ensures nursing staff adherence to their respective responsibilities as it relates to their job description, standards of care, and goals.
Holds staff accountable and communicates with HR for any violations of protocols and patient care
Attends treatment planning meetings (CTP)
Assess medical complaints
Provide Basic First Aid to Residents and Staff as needed
Implementation of physician orders for the medication (or other physical treatment)
Maintains records according to agency policy
Provides health and wellness education to children and staff as requested
Serves as a preceptor for new staff
May serve as a primary therapist, under the direct supervision of a psychiatrist
Other duties as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities:
RTF Staff Nurses
Minimum Qualifications:
Registered Nurse, current NYS RN license
Three years' experience working with emotionally disturbed adolescents
