JOB TITLE: Associate Director of Technology

REPORT TO: SVP, Chief Technology Officer

DEPARTMENT: Technology

Position Summary: The Associate Director of Technology plans, directs, and manages the bank's Information Technology policies and IT department in compliance with sound business practices and regulatory requirements. The Associate Director of Technology will assure the successful development and implementation of data processing, computer operations, and related functions (LAN/WAN, IP telephony, network security, office systems, etc.) in order to support front office and back office productivity. Responsible for core and ancillary application support, network and core system user administration, network and core system user security, and administration of patch management program. As a member of the bank's management team, the Associate Director of Technology participates in planning for corporate growth and coordinates the development of information systems with the bank's Strategic Plan.

Functions:
  • Provide escalation level support to all users within the bank, to ensure applications and systems are functioning properly. Assist in the implementation of controls developed as a result of the risk assessment process
  • Provide escalation level support for all servers within the bank. Act as liaison with vendors regarding server performance issues
  • Plan, organize and control staffing and development, hardware acquisitions, and facilities for the Information Technology department to ensure consistency with and support of the Bank's business plans
  • In collaboration with internal business units, participate in the selection and implementation of systems, programs, and systems software to meet the bank's needs
  • Administer and control the information systems expense budget towards a cost-effective operation. Continually monitor IT costs to stay within the bank's budget
  • Coordinate with Information Security to develop and implement network and system security components
  • Provide management reports on system operations and security metrics
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and be knowledgeable of systems and hardware developments to ensure incorporation of new developments in future systems
  • Maintain close contact with representatives of firms providing data processing hardware, software, and support service
  • Create, maintain, and enforce written policies and procedures regarding all computer operations in the Information Technology department and throughout the bank
  • Manage and/or oversee management of IT projects of varying scope
  • Manage, coach, train and develop IT department staff
  • Assist in the determination of hardware and software standards, including application delivery and presentment, hardware specifications, and support
  • Manage and track Tech Plan objectives to ensure that they are being met
  • Perform other duties as may be required from time to time as requested by management.

  • Business Resumption Team

Knowledge, Skills, Requirements:
  • Four-year college degree, preferably in a computer related field, or relevant work experience.
  • 12 years' experience in Information Technology in roles of increasing responsibility
  • Comprehensive knowledge of information systems technology subjects and extensive knowledge of hardware and software with the ability to keep abreast of new technologies
  • Experience working in the financial services industry or other highly regulated industry
  • Understand LAN/WAN environment, including IP communications and other Internet related communications
  • Telecommunications experience with Voice over IP implementations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft licensing, desktop and server operating systems
  • Strong problem management and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to carry out job responsibilities accurately and independently
  • Initiative in recognizing and resolving problems
  • Effective prioritization of responsibilities
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication
  • Ability to work closely and harmoniously with other employees
  • Valid driver's license
  • Perform duties of the position with strict adherence to all bank policies

Physical Demands and Condition Requirements:
  • General office environment.
  • Lifting and moving large and heavy computer components.
  • Dexterity working with small hand tools in confined spaces.
