Job Description
Portfolio Insights (PI) is responsible for generating valuations of AbbVies development programs to drive portfolio prioritization in alignment with AbbVies larger strategic goals. Within PI, the Insights & Analytics team is broadly responsible for technology enablement, data strategy & governance, and visualization / analytics development to enable efficient, agile portfolio prioritization. They are expected to partner closely with functional leaders to drive alignment on developing the approaches and solutions needed to deliver enterprise-wide impact. The Associate Director is an Individual Contributor position reporting into Director II, Portfolio Insights and Analytics.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Fosters strong connections with leaders across Portfolio Program Management, Finance, Commercial Forecasting, TASC, and Strategic Resourcing to understand their needs and act as a strategic and trusted partner to develop data governance approaches
- Acts a bridge across the Technology and Business sides of the organization to guide and build appropriate tools and solutions
- Works with broader Portfolio Insights team in defining visualization outputs to support Sr. Leadership decision-making on portfolio investments
- Collaborate with manager in taking input from cross-functional partners and leadership to drive continuous improvement in the new solution and process
- Leads ad-hoc short-term analysis or strategic projects at leadership request
Qualifications
- Bachelors or equivalent degree required. Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) highly preferred
- Minimum years of experience - 6+ with Bachelors, 4+ with Masters and 2+ with PHD
- Professional consulting experience highly preferred
- Experience managing large projects within a complex matrixed pharmaceutical organization, either as an external consultant or an internal cross-functional lead
- Demonstrated experience in enterprise-wide system implementations, data governance, data integration/ETL processes, and visualization tools (eg, Tableau, Power BI)
- Effective communication skills and strong presence in meetings with demonstrated ability to shape consensus and push for enterprise thinking
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience in managing multiple priorities in fast paced setting
- Highly collaborative, genuinely enjoys working hand-in-hand across functions to develop solutions that advance AbbVies overall mission
