What is the opportunity?

The Business and Client Services (BCS) group is the functional core of RBC Capital Markets' trading activities. We provide our business partners greater efficiency, scalability and control within their operational processing, helping to ensure the firm's continued growth and success.

Within the Digital Transformation and Business Architecture teams, we shape and advance the BCS transformation roadmap through a holistic lens including people, processes, data and technologies. Through a variety of tools and methodologies, our team strives to clearly articulate a vision for the future of our business, and drive towards it, in collaboration with our IT partners.

What will you do?

As an Associate Director of Strategy & Digital Transformation, a typical day might include the following:
  • Strategy development and transformation planning and execution
  • Functional capability model development and ownership
  • Roadmap development and ownership
  • Thought-leadership on key and emerging technologies, competitive landscape and capital markets transformation
  • Business casing, opportunity analysis and pitch materials
  • Development of elements of the client journey and experience ownership
  • Identify improvement opportunities in BCS, and research and identify the right solution
  • Liaise with and manage cross-functional teams to architect, implement, test and continuously deliver solutions to our clients
  • Presenting key strategies to communicate vision, roadmap and achieve buy-in from senior management and stakeholders
  • Report progress of project status, milestones, and achievements to stakeholders

  • You have experience in Management Consulting, or related field
  • You have some knowledge of Capital Markets
  • You have a bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in financial services
  • You have a broad view of the enterprise and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance


Nice to have
  • You have relevant and strong experience in capital markets and financial operations
  • You have a great understanding of the industry trends in digitization and automation space, software providers and the factors that differentiate an organization
  • You have working knowledge of applying business architecture principles to business solutions
  • You have strong product leadership skills and the ability to own a portfolio of projects end-to-end independently, including a track record of successful product deliveries
  • You have experience with Agile methodologies, mindset and tooling including JIRA and Confluence
  • Proven experience in consulting or similar strategic, transformation focused industry roles considered an asset
