The pay range estimated for this position is $118,0000 to $160,000 per year. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.

About the job
Oversees and has primary responsibility for the Anatomic Pathology, Scientific Services, Validation, Equipment Management and Training departments. Directs and manages supervisory and administrative staff to ensure timeliness and quality of all department work.
What You'll Do Here
- Identify, develop, and implement new strategies and business opportunities to support the site growth and meet the client demand.
- Lead, guide and implement workflow initiatives to ensure best practices and maintain industry leading techniques. Maintaining high level of Animal Welfare and evaluate the need for adequate equipment and training.
- Implement internal control mechanisms to monitor quality, productivity and efficiency. Maximize resource utilization and implement applicable cost control measures.
- Ensure effective and high-quality study execution, using KPI's, local staff and client feedback. Develop and implement creative and sustainable solutions for addressing operational challenges thru trend analysis and CAPA.
- Contribute to the development of short, mid and long-term operational objectives, staffing requirements and succession plan to meet the site growth and financial objectives.
- Monitor performance, conduct appraisal, set employee performance goals and provide regular coaching and counseling of direct reports.
- Guide and mentor operation managers, supervisors and leads on staff performance monitoring, staff counseling and disciplinary action. Recommend, review and approve personnel actions, promotions and increases.
- Develop and guide the technical training program to meet and exceed industry standards, client expectations, and animal welfare guidelines.
- Analyze equipment and computer system needs, to align scope and prioritization of projects, and to discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions.
- Assess and determine appropriate corrective action, cost and impact for equipment and/or computerized system malfunction.
- Ensure compliance with state laws, industry regulations and policies.
- Support the representation of the site to government, regulatory agencies, local, state and federal officials, industry groups as well as to key clients and customers.
- Maintain positive employee relations, such as communication, recognition, reward, development, and issue resolution.
- Active member of the site Senior Management Committee, Testing Facility Management, and Animal Welfare Team.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in science or a related disciple, Master's degree preferred
- Must have a least 10 years toxicology operations experience
- Must have at least 5 years leadership experience
- The computer skills required include but are not limited to the ability to utilize Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio).
- Preferred skills include but are not limited to demonstrates knowledge of current scientific and industry specific literature; demonstrates personnel and project management capabilities; ability to successfully operate independently with minimal guidelines; maintains a qualified staff and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
